Meals

All breakfast meals are included at both hotels. Lunch, both Thai and European, is included with the class fee. Bottled water is provided by the hotels and it is highly recommended you drink only bottled water throughout the trip. Both Hotels have restaurants on-site and can meet most needs.

Rooms

Every person enrolled has their own private room. Due to our hotel group rate, discounting room rates for double occupancy cannot be done. Both hotels offer great views of Bangkok and Ko Samui. . Rooms at the Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok are superior level rooms located in the tower. The Ambassador hotel offers a swimming pool, pub, restaurant, fitness center, spa, sauna, jacuzzi, Satellite TV, and 24 hour room service. I chose this hotel because its proximity is in the heart of the Bangkok shopping/entertainment district of Sukumvit.

Each room at the Samui Bayview Resort on the island of Ko Samui, has a queen or 2 single beds, a private balcony overlooking the ocean, 3 swimming pools with jacuzzi, air-conditioning, mini-bar, satellite TV, both bath and shower, exercise room with 500 meter private jogging path, restaurant, tour desk and complimentary beach shuttle. I chose this hotel because of its beautiful view situated on the cliffs overlooking the South China Sea. Also for its solitude, its just outside the busy tourist hotspot, Chaweng Beach.

Transportation

All transportation is included. Flights are presently being booked with a major airline carrier for our flights to and from Bangkok. Our inter-island flight from Bangkok to Ko Samui will be booked with Bangkok Air. Your package price includes taxes but not airport departure fees which can range from $10-20 per passenger. All flights and taxes are subject to change.

Gratuities

Gratuities are not included and are not required but are greatly recommended. Thai people work very hard for very little and every penny given is greatly appreciated by them.

Payments and Balances

Full balance is due no later than 60 days before trip departure date. Airline tickets once purchased, are nonrefundable. Trips booked within 60 days of departure date are subject to any additional airline or hotel fees. Full balance due is required immediately upon booking any class within 60 days of departure date.

Luggage

There is no limitation for luggage but excessive baggage or overweight luggage fees will be the sole responsibility of the individual and is not included in your package price. I highly recommend traveling lightly, especially upon your initial departure. One carry on bag and one suitcase at check in. Believe me, you'll be coming home with a lot more than your bringing, so plan ahead and plan wisely. Everything you need is there and will be much more inexpensive. Derbyshire is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged belongings.

Passports and Visa Requirements

Current U.S. Passports are required but Visa requirements are not needed with a 10 day stay. It is important to make sure your passport is updated and highly recommended you make 1-2 copies of it in case it is lost or stolen. Always be sure to keep your passport secure and in a safe place or with you at all times. Some car/bike rentals will ask for your passport as a deposit on the vehicles and most can be trusted, but again, make a few copies of it in case of emergency. Non-U.S. citizens should check with the Thailand Tourism Ministry for Visa requirements.

Travel Protection Plan

Due to unexpected circumstances with either the airlines or hotels and Thailand’s absolutely horrifying lack of traffic laws, anything can happen, especially for those of you looking to rent transportation (jeep/motorbike). Hospitals in Bangkok are first rate and are among the best in Asia, but when you reach Ko Samui, its another story altogether. Be safe and be prepared.

All insurance is provided through Travel Insured Inc., a licensed brokerage firm from Connecticut. The travel protection plan is non-refundable and non transferable and can only be purchased within 72 hours of deposit. The description of benefits will be sent to you with your travel documents. Cancellation Fees

If you do not purchase Dr. Bobs Travel Protection Plan within 10 days of paying your deposit, cancellations willed be charged the per person fees listed below. In fairness to others and because of expenses incurred, we cannot make exceptions:

72 hours or less prior to start of trip or during trip: fee is 100% of trip price. Time of cancellation will be when notice is received at Drbobsthaitrip.com.

Management and Responsibilities

Dr. Bob's Thai Trip and/or its agents, act only in the capacity as an agent for the passenger in all matters connected with luggage, hotels and transportation, whether by bus, boat, train, airplane or any other means; and is not liable for any damage from any cause. Dr. Bob's Thai Trip and/or its agents are not responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late departures, change of schedule, strikes or other conditions. The itineraries shown are subject to revision, including the substitution of hotels.

Dr. Bob's Thai Trip is not liable for any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions of any travel agent or travel agency. Legal proceedings by/or against Dr. Bob's Thai Trip, may be instituted only by an arbitrator in the state of Illinois, and any claim involved in such proceedings shall be decided in accordance with the laws of the state of Illinois. We reserve the right to decline, to accept or retain any person as a member of a trip at any time before or during the actual operation of the trip.

Dr. Bob's Thai Trip reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time. In the case of computer or human billing error, Dr. Bob's Thai Trip reserves the right to re-invoice with correct billing. Dr. Bob's Thai Trip is not responsible for typographical or printing errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances.
